Born a Sansei, third generation Japanese-American, in 1956, the year of The Fire Monkey, e. eiji o. a.k.a. erne ogawa, is an illustrator / artist, born, raised and based in Pasadena, California.
Having worked around the Los Angeles Area as a Technical Illustrator, Illustrator & Graphic Designer, e was one of the first artists on the creative team for Custom Expressions, a Burbank, California company, that developed the First Customizable Greeting Cards.

After Custom Expressions was purchased by American Greetings, and operations were moved to Cleveland, Ohio, e served as Production Supervisor/Illustrator for American Greetings/CreataCard, which later became AmericanGreetings.com.
Returning to the Los Angeles area, e worked as Production Manager for a Long Beach California based Company that developed Online Sales & Service Training, for Honda America, Mazda, and Kia Motors, along with online educational courses for The American Association of Critical Care Nurses.

Most recently, having worked as a member of the Support Services Staff at Art Center College of Design, e has been motivated and invigorated by the energy of the Student Artists & Designers.
With the events of these past few years, most significantly, the Eaton Fire, e could not have been prouder to be a member of the ArtCenter staff.
Through experiences that were up, down and sideways, staff, faculty and students show of support for each other was amazing and actually validated e's understanding of people coming together, and the power of Community.
ArtCenter had become a true source of inspiration for e as a person, and as an artist.
